It's not typically shame when it comes to rich-euro expats. Usually they just get bored with the traditional and conservative lifestyle of their home community. You have to remember, the United States is EXTREMELY far right compared to the rest of the West. While her father may be a little disappointed, she's probably just treated as the eccentric one that moved to America. Euros don't really care as much about sexual shame as we do.
