I don't think Gunn is a leftie considering he got cancelled by those types and booted from Disney. He's a boring liberal who used to be an edgy liberal back in the Dubya/early Obama years when that was considered counterculture or "punk" but culture/politics rapidly got so much meaner and more irony-pilled that his old edgy routine doesn't even register anymore. And now he's looking back and realizing he misses the stuffier, uptight social norms that he rebelled against. Yeah it's kind of lame, but earnest lame people are the rock on which society is maintained. Too many edgelords and class clowns leads to degenerate chaos.
