Well even if I don't love every design I really do appreciate a fully insulated Region with it's own 150 pokemon and no overlap or fillers from other generations. It's the last one with the pixel art and animations, and the best ones in the series at that, which I massively preferred over the 3d models. While I never found any Pokemon game difficult, it has some features that encourage at least a modicum of thinking, which is nice.
