I don’t quite believe the more extravagant theories about this odd gentleman (I’m pretty sure he was a real “comedian” who tasted fame for a short period of time when TV was quite in the doldrums) but I do believe the current obsession with him, and his admittedly bizarre act, is ripe to be “egregorized,” so to speak. More and more utterly weird SHIT is going to happen with this figure and his image will (and perhaps should) be hyper-sigilized. We have spells (slither hither), we have music, we have gestures, and soon (if it hasn’t already happened) there will be some ancient artifact or myth or hieroglyphic discovered regarding a sleepwalking snake man who dances as the sun sets while wearing a striped ceremonial robe and black-lidded orbital sockets.
