I see shit like this and it makes me wonder what I'm doing with my life.
I'm an aspiring comic artist/writer, but I always pussy out when I think of seriously trying to put something together. I have art, and a bunch of ideas for stories, but I can never struggle with a single idea long enough to actually put anything together worth distributing. Add in the fact that the entire industry is absolutely POZZED beyond belief, and I'm worried that one wrong statement/slip up could mean that I'd never be able to publish in my lifetime.
It sucks man. People want good stories, not hamfisted political allegories about killing wypipo. Graphic novels/comics are one of the fastest and cheapest ways to fully manifest a narrative idea. It's independent, self-directed. A single person can write, pencil, ink, color, publish, everything. There are no gates to sharing your vision... except for the dominant community, which is now comprised of some of the most horrifically unstable and predatory people imaginable.
