They worded it properly, that it is for people who chose the wrong gender by mistake. There were people who chose to play Female Commander because they wanted the whole ship to be full of cute girls including the player character but the didn't understand how much better the story is with a male player character, my favorite part being when someone made that Mandalorian comparison.
