1 is worth playing though there's not a whole lot going on there. The customization system is far beyond what the game requires and it's kind of a shame.
2 is a legitimately great game. I don't know if anyone can deny it's the best one and that includes the Nosurge games as well.
3 is...painful in a lot of places and a lot of ways. I get that they didn't know how to make a PS3 game but why is the writing so much worse? It's not entirely lacking in good moment but it's not very engaging and the combat is fucking awful. 3 does have some of the best songs in the entire series, though. Arphage is definitely a contender for best song up there with METHOD_METAFALICA/. and EXEC_over.METHOD_SUBLIMATION.~omness chs ciel sos infel
