My family always goes to cons but I never do. One time though my sister invited me to go to one and I reluctantly decided to try it out.
I was bored as sin.
I had no clue what to do. I didn't know anyone there beyond my sister who was busy and I'm not the kind of person who just makes friends with strangers. I wandered around the con and made several laps of that. Then I got bored and started exploring. I entered the main hotel area and there was a Billiards table. I started playing Pool by myself and swapping out to my "opponent" whenever it was their turn. Later my sister stopped by and we played together but then some hotel guest was a real bitch and kicked us out because she wanted to use the room. Technically I wasn't supposed to be there so I had to relent.
After that my sister left again to go to her friends that she made at the con or whatever. I decided to start wandering outside of the con and found this little town center. I walked around that for a while then later headed back in. I was getting pretty exhausted at that point. I went into the main hotel area and went up the elevator. I started to explore some of the hallways and I walked past a bunch of guest rooms. I found a little corner at the end of the hall and sat down on the floor for a second and accidentally dozed off. Next thing I knew I was being scolded by a janitor telling me I had to get the hell out of there. Then I wandered around the town center again then later went up to the top floor of the con center. It was night at that point and I didn't get out much, so I watched across the balcony as I stared wistfully at the city all lit up and it looked really nice. Then some girl asked if I was ok and said that jumping "wasn't worth it", I guess because I was getting so caught up in the view so I bitterly left that area. Then I just waited for the con to be over so I could go home

Cons just aren't for everyone. I've gone to a couple others since then but they've all gone about the same.
