It's interesting because 27k~30k seems like the original norm. The 87k peak was an additional bunch of people heard "save up for kitasan" and then got unlucky or burned out fast because they're not smart enough to try to learn the game.

Which honestly tracks because the same /v/tards flooded /uma/ on the 16th and now are nowhere to be seen. Some of them did get lucky and that's why it bumps back up to ~55k during daily peaks.
