This bit? This is merely more nuanced animation, but Ruri's reaction to eating the hot karaage uses typical comedic expression to show her reaction to the heat. The difference is that the animator uses different key poses to express it rather than a simple loop of Ruri flailing about. Character animation deserves attention to detail too, and it's great to see it in TV anime where resources tend to be given to flashy action scenes instead.
