Christians throughout history literally cut off their own dicks and sliced off their breasts in the name of God. This wasn't some rare occurrence - medieval monks, priests, and religious nuts regularly mutilated their genitals as acts of devotion. Even famous church figures like Origen castrated himself. Entire religious sects like the Skoptsy made cutting off sexual organs a central practice. Church leaders usually condemned it when they found out, but it kept happening anyway across different time periods and regions.

Now these same Christians turn around and lose their minds over transgender people getting medical care. They'll scream that God made you perfect and you shouldn't change your body, conveniently forgetting that their own religious ancestors were hacking off body parts left and right for Jesus. When you bring up this history, they'll flat-out deny it ever happened or claim it was super rare, even though it's well-documented. So apparently cutting off your genitals is fine if you're doing it for religious reasons, but if you're transgender and want medical treatment, suddenly body modification is evil. The double standard is absolutely ridiculous - they had more tolerance for religious self-mutilation than they do for people just trying to live as their authentic selves.
