The problem isn't Sonic just like the problem with Tails isn't Tails.
The problem is that the people who write for this franchise fucking suck at their jobs. It shouldn't be difficult to right a powerful main character while invalidating every other character around them. Look at Superman and DBZ (We pretend Super does not exist.)
