- Whiteout wasn't really a thing here before the 1990s;
- Most younger people here were brought up with the usage of whiteout in liquid form, either in marker form (the better kind) or with an actual brush applicator (the cringe kind). People generally call them a "corrector". People used them in school, uni and so on.
- The film-based ones, like the ones you show, were more prominent in late 90s and early 2000s and were more known to older people working in offices. Probably because they were more expensive or something like that. 9 times out of 10 I encountered them in some business office. They are a thing and are still available, but for most younger people the two other forms are an order of magnitude more common, so a person call easily never once see a film-based one;
