I understand fisherian runaway and concur with you, I was writing trying to explain their point of view.
Women generally fail at second-order systems thinking. It's often why they get relegated to programming frontend at tech companies or "project manager" (read: jira ticket organizer and standup scheduler)
What i'm trying to explain is that women cannot compartmentalize their sexual attraction in the workplace and it affects both how they treat male coworkers and male customers.
Anecodote:
I was overweight before the pandemic and work in tech. Most calls with women from our company were pretty dry and these women would often forget things I told them during the calls that I'd have to reiterate during meetings or via slack.
Post pandemic I lost 50 lbs and got back to lifting the same amounts as in my early 20's. We had a physical event and without fail, every woman I interacted with commented on my appearance. One even said some stuff that I'd have gotten in trouble with if the roles were reversed. After that event they all remembered things I told them, attempted to prolong conversations and divert them to personal subjects, etc. And a lot of issues I had getting other teams scheduled for work I needed done simply disappeared, as if by magic.
This kind of thing wouldn't be an issue in an all-male company, because we value everyone by how much they can contribute.
Being attractive is ESSENTIAL for men now. We can't get by on competency alone.
