If you're using Fans, you don't need Iron Bind for that. Just use Wide Attack (with optional Break followup) before the gumbind ends to stop the opponent from escaping like in the clip below. If you have Tornado Shot then I believe you can also follow that up with the down input version of that Special and then use the enhanced Break, but it's not a true combo.

If you have Wind Caller then the combos you can do get a lot more complex, like the unburstable position-dependent combo with tight inputs shown in this webm. The same basic concept of using a launching move to end the gumbind early and prevent escape still applies once you get the gumbind though. If you don't, the opponent can move freely like you can see the second person doing in the linked clip. Luckily Wide Attack caught him anyway, but it would have been better to end the gumbind earlier if possible. Not being able to do that is another downside of Iron Bind, which personally I thought was plenty back before it got the gum shoot cooltime nerf. Makes it easier for people to steal your IPPONs too

You say that, but a lot of the things Lab gives people are things you can report them for. More damage than they should be doing, attacks having no effect, abnormally frequent use of special moves, etc. By GungHo's own definition, it's officially-sanctioned paid cheating. The poor weapon balance falls into that too when it comes to instant win buttons like Variable Stance and Surfing Cannon which literally have no counterplay.
But yeah either way it's GungHo's fault. There's no excuse for implementing stupid shit like the ninjutsu comeback mechanic in Turf or leaving weapons in this broken state for years even when people constantly leave feedback about them and when they can easily see the usage/win rates themselves. It's sheer greed and incompetence on their part.
