Unfortunately, it appeared the special event tokens being distributed during both of these events were misprinted with expired dates, and thusly couldn't be used. Certainly something the event staff will be looking into quite quickly, I'd imagine.
Regardless, the Festival of the Sun and big 'Bash on the Beach were pretty neat little diversions from my usual routine. Ended up with a bunch of silly little cosmetics - albeit time-limited ones - including these fancy 'specs.
Have to say these frames don't quite suit me, however. Perhaps they were fashionable once, but I'd say time has passed these glasses by. Were they a little more chic - thinner frames and cast in black or maybe silver - I might've considered them for something longer-term.

To that end, I'm thankful EU 'lads have a choice of servers to suit their preferences. While it's interesting to see how far these older MMOs can be pushed via custom additions and such for those wanting to experience them, it's also nice to have a fallback of something more true to the source, so-to-speak.
Hopefully both servers develop their own stable communities, rather than needlessly cannibalizing one another.
