Yeah, I just don't know where to go after this place is truly well and done. It seems like every social media platform is going down the toilet right now and new alternatives are struggling to take off. This is probably the closing time of a bygone era.

Big part of the problem is for 2 expacs now that's been pretty much all you've got to do. I was really looking forward to Crescent but without a CLL-like dungeon a lot of that hype was lost. I don't really have the time or energy to prog Forked Tower right now. At least in Endwalker I had good allied society quests? Yet another thing that feels phoned in for Dawntrail.
Idk, it's not like attrition didn't happen during Endwalker, my friendlist still has some xivgers that I met during EW that stopped logging in and never came back for DT, but this still feels bleak. It doesn't help that all the discourse around the game is how it's on a decline at the moment.
This is the exact thing that needed to happen to get them to change, though. My big copium is that seeing the declining numbers they'll actually get off their asses and start doing something about it. Even the most braindead corporate executive wouldn't want to allow his load-bearing pillar of live service income wither and die.
