There is also that, Asa is already plenty selfish, it's bizarre to propose that her life would be better if she was more selfish, aka, like Yoru.
>She also reacted similarly to Denji in regards to the praise she received after joining the CSM Church.
The story makes it very clear that Asa is emotionally starved, in that very scene Yoru describes the sensation as a "thirst being sated.", Denji, even at his worst always had a friend or someone that appreciated him, Asa never had that.
You could say that between the two Denji is the more physically impoverished while Asa is the more emotionally impoverished.
The only difference is that Denji admitted he was only doing it for the praise and the attention of girls.
However, Asa isn't just doing this for the praise and validation and she just re-confirmed that last chapter. She has shown to be naive and even willful ignorant at times, but when Denji is actually in danger she puts that behind her to help him because she genuinely cares about him and is pretty much the only living character that does so.
Asa has stopped Yoru from continuing with their (Shiga's) plan, meaning that she doesn't actually belive the whole "heart in the right place" thing, not enough to risk Denji's life in it. If Asa really only cared about herself, she could have played dumb watching the train wreck then blame Shiga for lying to her and Yoru for threatening her.
The one thing Asa never does is play victim, even if she reasonably could, she always takes full responsibility for Yoru's actions even though she is helpless to stop them.
