For someone who's so uppity, how do you not get that Lucy DID take the hint? And thought if she just did Y instead of X, she'd get a preferable result.
You're also wrong about the build-up to the bridge fall. Mike had very clearly been growing more and more frustrated with Lucy leading up to that point, telling her to quit the bullshit like throwing his stuff across the plane and not letting Yashi they had "split up." But Lucy kept ignoring him or guilting Mike into playing along. The reason Mike's switch "got flipped" is because he had just almost fucking died trying to save Lucy and all she did was yell at him for almost dying and leaving her. So far as he could tell, Lucy was still thinking about how this affected her, not him.
