This might be me being old, but I genuinely cannot see how anyone can prefer the ones on the right. The colors are washed out. The buildings look like they're plastic. None of them look distinct. They look like background props not places you're suppose to go to.

It feels like every game or movie is using PBR lighting for cartoon stuff like this. It is peak slop design.
