Proposition 187 was approved by California voters in 1995. The law would have cut funding for illegal immigrants, meaning no more welfare, food stamps, housing subsidies, cash grants, or student aid. Without free gibs, the illegal immigrants here would have left, and new illegal immigrants would choose other states to live in.
Despite passing by a wide margin, a Jewish judge nullified the results by tossing it out. Now it's too late to do anything about illegal immigration, the children of those illegal immigrants back in 1995 are now the majority in this state.
