Yeah but it didn't stop there. People figured out some spots have 12h timers and some have 24h timers, some spots can give you a single artifact with that arti having a 50% chance of being a 2-star arti and some spots can give you 2 1-star artifacts (65% chance) and also a range of 100 to 300 mora. Spots don't despawn after you pick up 100, but rather they stop spawning. Some spots have weird rules like odd respawn timings like 23h, some spots don't have a timing at all and respawn at server reset, some spots don't follow the 100 spot rule or a combination of all that.
With all this knowledge and a pletora of spots as the world keeps growing, new routes are nothing like before, you can do whatever you want now. You can optimize them to be done as fast as possible, you can squeeze the most juice out of them at the cost of time, or something in between. Hell, people have 2 routes nowadays by having common 12h spots and separate 24h ones, this way you can do the run whenever you feel like pretty much. (me, I have semi mora-oriented routes -see picrel- that focus on getting me as much mora as posible while also balancing time so they don't take 30min and don't have obnoxious decoy spots that don't give artis on my way, at the cost of being 20min long and needing some Mavuika tech and mindful character swapping)
Today's routes have the main route, a finisher like the mausoleum the first poster refered to or Tatarasuna where you collect spot 100 and everything in that area, and then extras that don't despawn after that like the sumeru bubbles.
