…Shun Shun lets out an attempted nonchalant whistle. Little Basilea giggles and claps at that. The elder Basilea glares at her Majin attendant. “…What? I didn’t say anything!”
She turns her attention back to you. “The point is. That’s what to expect from her. That’s also how you can start to get back at her, working against those gambles and stacking the deck against her. It will still be risky, but those moments where she tries to taunt you will be the best chances you have at catching her by surprise.”
“Got it. I think I did notice something like that for a moment, she… just was too quick for me at the time.” you say.
“This is going to be someone that knows most of your moves, your skills, how you tend to act, even if she doesn’t share those same abilities.” Basilea adds. “You’ll likely have to find ways that could surprise even yourself.”
You give an acknowledging nod. Next up, one more question, “So… mind if I ask a bit about Beelzebub? Princess Misa, how’s it been with him managing his resistance movement against Towa and Dabura? I’ve been helping him plenty, and I know he’s tried to keep any of their attention away from you, but I’d like to know your side of things as well.” You next turn to the red demon lady, asking, “And how about you, Basilea? How are the two of you getting along now? I know things were… kinda shaky for a time, so it could help give me some idea on how to reconcile.”
Basilea answers first, stating, “All things considered, leagues better than they were when we started. For a time he still thought I was still too far gone, too much a tool of Towa, something he needed to stop rather than save, and if anything there was a part of me that wanted him dead… probably projecting much of my anger against the father from my timeline’s failure to match up against Towa and Dabura. For a time I didn’t really know if reconciliation could be possible for the both of us, even if he started to regret his actions after hearing about how you… showed me mercy. But, eventually… we both were able to talk things out after Towa decided I was too much trouble to keep around.” She looks toward Princess Misa. “Helped a bit by mo- …Princess Misa putting in the effort first.” She looks down in mild embarrassment.
Princess Misa giggles. “It’s okay sweetie. I don’t mind.”
Under her breath, Basilea grumbles, “It’s embarrassing though…”
“As for BB’s resistance movement, I do worry about him a lot, but still he does try to make time for us. We do what we can to balance out all that’s going on in our lives, especially with this little bundle of joy added to them.” She nuzzles little Basilea affectionately.
The tiny demon girl babbles out an equally affectionate “Ba ba!” right back at her.
