Negros' shadows are not going to be killing a lot but this is a mostly retardproof baseline farming build that still has 100% armor strip
free spaces can be stuff like health converison + arcane battery, or primed flow otherwise, with rolling guard (personally preferred over adaptation because the things that kill you don't get caught by adap) or r1 arcane aegis if you need even more not-dying
swapping his 1 for Silence at high range (which also helps yoink further team kills into loot and gives shadow link range) turns off all the dumb eximus abilities and grenades and toxin clouds that will harass you
It sounds like you're at a weird spot in progress so I'm not sure I can recommend using a purple shard on him, but even a single one is more than enough to keep the energy constantly rolling. you can probably get them from the 1999 calendar instead of netracels or archons or whatever nonsense. Saving a slot over using Equilibrium at all is pretty important to check all the boxes.
you can also use a sentinel like dethcube with the 30% efficiency mod on channeling (and arguably energy generator), lower blind rage, and use power drift, just so long as you're at ~167%
It's also 70% DR on shield of shadows and would be enough with a rank 1 creeping terrify to add the speed reduction at maximum, you need 214% for 90% Shield of Shadows which is easy conditionally but not really a big deal
