Yes. She's retarded and can't think into the future or how whatever she chooses to do in the moment might affect her for the rest of her life. Only important thing is the here and now and how she gets to feel right there and then on impulse.

My mom had to actually get a hysterectomy after having me cause of some weird issues with inflammation or growths in her womb that is apparently genetic and could only be fixed by having the womb and ovaries remove. It caused her to basically enter menopause before she hit her 30s and caused various issues like apparently not developing properly as any woman would that slowly wanes into that. It also seemed to for whatever reason keep her stuck in some weird adolescent-like state that she never grew up from. Either that, or she just has a midlife crisis, but she just acts like you would expect an unruly teenager to act most of the time where she just wants to be able to do whatever the fuck she wants, even though she doesn't know anything and everything she want's is stupid and would only work to her detriment. But she basically thinks she knows better than everyone else.
I do not recall her being like this before so it could just be development issues due to hormone imbalance or whatever. Also, she stopped ever having to deal with periods and menstruation, since the womb and ovaries that cause that to happen as a natural thing were taken out, which, again, is a thing that clearly cause some sort of imbalances in her body.
It's a very fucked up situation, and no wonder the doctor is telling her that she should wait a few years before going through with the operation because the doctors knows she will start getting into her "baby crazy" phase the closer she gest to her 30s and will completely throw that retarded idea of castrating herself out the window.
