>who are you making fun of..?
It's pretty obvious she's making fun of guys who live in empty apartments. For some reason OP is also making fun of people who torrent movies instead of having Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and whatever other streaming services normies seem to need nowadays.
I'm not sure where this stereotype comes from, when I was young and poor and lived in a big city it was always young women who lived in these bare apartments that were completely devoid of furniture or decoration. (Although I did see a few real-life examples of girl's apartments with a string of fairy-lights strung along the wall for atmospheric lighting. This was decades before the meme became a thing.)
Often the only furniture in these girls apartment was a kitchen table and a couple of chairs, the "bed" was always a futon that looked like a mattress on the floor, or an actual mattress on the floor. (I assume this is some interior design fashion called "Crackhouse Chic".) Clothes were stacked in piles on the floor, and the girls usually lived two or three to an apartment. Since this was back in the days of physical media there was usually a box of cassette tapes somewhere on the floor too.
By way of contrast I always wanted my apartment to look as cozy and inviting as possible, so I always had a big old couch with a matching armchair, a cool old lamp or two, and for years I had a big old four poster queen-size bed. The walls were covered with posters and a few framed prints. I even had a couple of old clocks on the walls. Even though I myself was poor as fuck I was able to buy this furniture for next to nothing at junk stores and charity shops, or from the occasional classified ad. Girls just didn't seem to bother, and thought nothing of everyone sitting on the living room floor listening to the portable stereo in the dim light cast from the fairy lights on the wall. Ah, memories!
