What's wrong with spending some money to look better when you've fucked your body over with substance abuse for years? They're both rich. They can both afford it. Better to look like you finally got your shit together than to look like you're still chronically high on meth. The fact that they both had very similar backgrounds, successes, failures, traumas, and scandals, makes the current difference that much more poignant. In just 15 short years, the complete divergence of their lives... one seemingly for the better and the other for the worse... is altogether pretty fucking tragic.
