I saw Petropavlivka and the Samara river as another way to interdict Kramatorsk/Slavyansk. I now see that the Ukrainians have been building a defensive ring around Pavlohrad since around January. They must have finally acknowledged contingency plans if all of Donetsk Oblast falls.
