Grim Dawn plays well enough, but the writing is utterly atrocious. They had a great opportunity with the Aetherials and completely sidetracked it with generic blood cult abominations instead.
Case in point: they had to make an entire Aetherial themed DLC because they forgot those guys were supposed to be the villains. Also, the chef being a secret super soldier spy who never does anything and needs to be constantly saved by you was amateur writing.
