It's funny that they even mentioned rubber bullets at all because the scene plays out non lethally anyways. There was literally no point to bring up they use rubber bullets because it takes out all the tension, out of the scene and it also makes the fact that he shot the gun out of the guy's hand less impressive because there was very little risk of him killing his opponent anyway. It was such a bizarre decision and all it did was make the scene exponentially worse.
