>hate dog wat do
Big stick. Something solid you can swing two handed comfortably, like an axe handle or spade. Forget telescopic ski sticks.
For a limited range deterrence, a half-sized can of bugspray aerosol is good, double use. Cheaper and less permanent damage than bear spray, in case a rabid owner wants to sue.
If you're going guns, a .22 cheapo pistol will do enough for a dog. The lower recoil might help your nerveless fingers if you need to follow up with anothet shot. I wouldn't take a 22, because then I'd need another pistol for bushcooking crackheads.
A straight knife (no folders, karambits, butterflies; switchblades ideal but likely illegal) as a last resort, because the dog might be in range of your face and hands. At hypothetically 80ilbs you can kill it with a couple good stabs with a knife, but you will be fucked up in the bargain. God forbid it's huge and part of a pack.
Another alternative is to try to kill your fear instead. Try exposure training. Visit dog parks, then pounds. Exposure training is part of the regime to socialize autists; it works.
I like well-behaved or at least good natured dogs. I'd kill an uppity mutt too.
