ya know its funny, thousands of years of despots ruling over lands has pushed society to attempt a somewhat successful version of "democracy". But power still wants to try and find the path of least resistance so you see some of the most important modern institutions existing in a quasi (mostly) private state (the FED, the DTCC) so that centuries of "democratic" buildup can be mostly disregarded because these institutions are private.

Fascinating to watch all of this go down because I bet (hope) after all of this goes down that people will start asking why an organization can have a Realtime database of all shares in the system, can trivially check if the number of shares in the system is higher than the number issued by the company (after accounting for legal short interest and market making liquidity). The crooks went from terrorizing people with mob like activity to embedding themselves inside the government and regulatory bodies so they can perform their treachery from the top down.
