The female-brained tend to conflate power with legitimacy because in their mind what is right is simply what Chad says is right. In reality the institutions / positions of power that they capture and occupy became and remain powerful BECAUSE they have legitimacy, not the other way around; see for example the hollow victory of controlling all mainstream media and academia, but the population reacting by concluding that they're totally full of shit and not listening to them anymore.
