Took a IED that was a bunch of arty shells daisy chained together in Iraq that ripped off the front wheels and engine. I fucking flew, hit the roof and landed on my friend, we were in the back as dismounts. Got concussed for about 4 days. I had to remove the plastic wire guides and ripped my pants went one of the plastic pipes released, barely missing my nuts. Walked around the rest of the day with my boxers clearly showing. No one got hurt. Other times the jammers did their jobs, and IEDs would blow up after we passed them. Another troop took an RPG to the side and the reactive armor did it's job. Maintenance on them can be a bitch, but they are durable and can take a beating. I remember that day too because I just got done reading Fate:Zero like 20 minutes before it happened.
Funny part is, I've gotten worse concussions by running into the rear ramp hitch catch on a Bradley and by landing on my head by attempting to do a back flip.
