Does this still happen on the more expensive gps watches? I'm not buying a new Garmin because they are so overpriced but I'm considering a different brand just for a better gps

I'm doing everything I can. I'm making sure to connect to the app the night before so it can estimate where I am. I put the watch on tried to connect literally an hour before my run and it still never connected
