It wasn't a cut song from the original movie. It was from the "Rhythm of the Pride Lands" album, a "music inspired by the movie" type of thing that had a bunch of new songs (and one song that was actually cut from the movie, "Warthog Rhapsody" which was later rewritten and used for 1 1/2). It is true some songs from the album were later repurposed for the Broadway musical, however.
