I think the class really lost its essence in many ways overtime. In part probably due to how prevalent the term 'Berserk' or 'going berserk' has become applicable in regular use and its popularity as a general class in gaming culture, as well as across medias. We all know the idea the word transmits but the literal meaning and the more traditional perception about Berserkers has gotten a certain backseat.

Almost 10 years of FGO and little of characters from Norse sagas who are indeed literary Berserker characters. At best we get tangential cases like Beowulf or Eric Bloodaxe.
