not that anon, but the basic idea is to keep your model simple by using "extrude" on elbows, knees, sholders, boobs, buts, muscles, etc, wherever you need your mesh to have a bulge or some extra details, and just fix/rearrange the topology later.
You can start from a very low-poly mesh > select a square/rectangle patch of polygons(at least 2x2) > "extrude" > scale the extruded mesh down > "smooth" it out, so you can get all those details on the places you need, while keeping your overall mesh simple and smooth on the places you don't really need those extra edges.
