I'll stick it out a while longer, but if the only interesting thing to look forward to are more generic bandit/slaver/scavenger-type humans with a few new weapons and abilities that don't appear until the ass end of the progression chain, then that's not terribly motivating. It seems to me like the devs wanted difficulty to ramp up through enemy capability rather than the standard bullet sponge approach, and I personally love that conceptually, but in this case it has come at the cost of rendering literal real-life days of game time prior to that point astoundingly boring.
