I think Zelensky caught on to the fact that the West wants to make him step down and install Zaluzhny as president (Hersh wrote about such rumours in Washington recently).
The main vector for attack would be through the Western-controlled anti-corruption organizations to open up a bunch of (legitimate) investigations about the kickbacks that Zelensky team received during the war.
But the way Rada overwhelmingly supported the bill is surprising, did western intelligence have bad info on the Rada members' allegiances? Sure, you have the western media darlings such as Kira, Klitchko and that annoying square-faced fag, yapping out the script they received, but the radar seems to not be inclined to support a leadership change. Did SBU intervene with threats? Do they prefer zelensky over zaluzhny? Seems not so likely, since there have been rumours of Z trying to remove Budanov, and SBU is really tight with CIA.
