They definitely upped the spook factor with Fear in Fall of Deadworld. Dreams manages to do another "Gaze Into The Fist of Dredd" callback but Fall really makes him an eldritch horror, more so than the other Dark Judges. My favourite part of the episode with the resistance camp is that one part starts from the comic's cover with Fear playing with his pets, the story itself switches to his viewpoint watching the junior Dark Judges Psiren and Gates (who are visibly freaked out themselves) and then the rest of the prog chapter is entirely wordless apart from two words at the very end. Excellent stuff.

Deadworld Fear displays some range for his fear powers, and his pre-zombie job appears to have been interrogation, so its quite possible he was able to latch onto the guy's weaknesses and exploit it to make him do something really stupid.

Its not the only time Fear uses something from his host's memory. Later on he specifically targets weaker members of his former group - see here with bonus pre-bonehead Mortis.
