Deku is a main character for the modern era. Modern men cant have heroes that are tough and cool. Modern Goku would have the same path as deku, ending dragon ball with him losing the world tournament and ending his martial arts career till tien shows up to give him a new technique years later and he goes to fight again after years of just sweeping the WT halls, Chi-Chi never even bothering to look for him at all.
