For me personally, half the fun is genuinely in red teaming the thing to get that "a-ha!" when I get it to generate something that it probably shouldn't.
A different genAI example: ChatGPT's 4o is rather puritan, and it even "changes its mood" regarding this with this or that update. Something like DeepSeek is far less restrictive (if you know how to push its buttons). It's easy to generate text smut and text gore with DeepSeek. But, 1) I find that DeepSeek's quality is far more shitty, whereas 4o generates much nicer texts, and 2) after the initial novelty wears off and you get off to DeepSeek's hilariously uncensored output for a few days, you start wanting more than instant reward overload, you start wanting some feeling of "tinkering to get it done". And while of course I'll never compare it to the satisfaction of writing or drawing the thing that you want yourself (I'm a writer of stuff from time to time, luckily not professionally, and I *do* know how good it feels to actually spend time to write something you like), there's still a certain satisfaction in "gaming" the restrictive Dalle to produce some fun and (moderately) spicy result than there is in having unfiltered goon content pouring into your face.
