Oooh! here take my advice even if you dont' want it:
1) get them dewormed ASAP as they can get worms from their mother's milk. Change litter every few days so it breaks the toxocara life cycle.
2) hold the kitten a lot, get them used to doing stuff like touching the paws and clipping nails - will save you a lot of trouble later
3) don't bother about expensive scratching posts or toys, they are quite wasted imo
4) picrel is really useful to help them not gobble their food up (they might puke it up later)
5) figure out how to make cat wet food and just make batches - raw cat food + supplements makes for a happy kitty.
6) get them a nice stretchable collar (we have one that's combi leather and elastic) and DON'T FORGET to buy and get engraved a medallion with their name and your number on it.
6) oh and get them spayed / neutered early
