Kondo always said how hard it's for them to write an adult protagonist, which makes me wonder why didn't they start Calvard with Van's childhood and school days? I'm not fond of battle harem school setting, but if kuro 1 was mostly about Van's backstory and growth it would've made players to connect with Van better.
