Well that covers a broad range of genres and eras of eastern and even some western game developed like the weeb games I mentioned. Anime artstyle itself covers a broad range, people were livid about Castlevania DoS adopting an "anime" artstyle despite the games having had anime artstyles since Rondo, it's just that Kojima's art has a less commonly recognised style used for stuff like josei manga.
So while I don't exclusively play anime games, some of my favorite games are "anime games", by your definition, and as such I don't really have an argument for my "malfunction" but I also don't think I need one, frankly.
