Kabbalah is one people's shot at explaining reality, at a moment when some of those people took a peek under the veil. That, and all the later tradition and exegesis by many others, most of whom didn't see anything in their whole life. It's a huge corpus.
What do you mean by improve your life? If you paradoxically mean increasing your knowledge: proceed, for there is much wisdom therein. If you mean getting money, power, health, influence, sex, attractive, happiness, etc. there are much more direct, proven and mundane ways of achieving that.
