But the point I'm making is the Sven isn't going to be in a central location reviewing each and every mission. Sven, just like the rest of the Spartans, will be on missions, sometimes concurrently back to back. How do you figure that we'll ensure that they won't be placed on missions that get them 'killed' when we cant review whatever mission they're given. (though even in the old lore, I think the majority of the original 33/32 made it all the way to Red Flag before new lore started killing them off through suicides and whatever fiat bs).

"All taskings go through me" would slow down how and where the Spartans can be deployed to a crippling degree. The UNSC does not have FTL communications. The Spartans ARE loaned out to regional commanders-it's the only way it can work in a way that can effectively combat an evolving and mobile enemy like the Covenant. It's not a realistic request. At all. There's a reason Spartans are cut up into teams.

I'm not saying we should let them grind us up and dump us. I TRUST that ONI and other UNSC brass understand fully our importance and act accordingly, because Halsey, Sven and literally no one else is omnipotent enough to make a request like this. Unless, like I said-we cripple the operational reactivity of the Spartan branch so that we can make sure our Spartans get the kiddy missions.
