As Freeza presses his advantage, pushing you back, closer and closer to the edge, you can feel it rising. You're getting close, you can feel it. And then, as Freeza's left fist blurs towards your face, you feel it. That familiar power wells up within you once more, your body moving on its own. Sliding outside past his punch, your left fist rising on its own and slamming into his guts.
“GYUUUUUUAH?!” Freeza exclaims as the air is knocked from his body, dropping to all fours. But he doesn't stay there long, exploding back up in a right turning kick aimed at your head. Your body raises its left arm on its own, blocking the wild, retaliatory strike and following up with a right uppercut to the jaw. Sending Freeza flying.
“Don't stop. Don't let him get away.” you think to yourself, your body launching itself up after him. Closing the distance with a heavy right, swinging it in a finishing blow aimed at sending him out of the arena, to crash down to the ground. But as you swing, suddenly that power fades once more. Stopping your swing, forcing you to consciously try and hit him. But that moment's hesitation gave Freeza all the time he needed, raising his guard and blocking your strike with his crossed arms. You see his eyes, wide with shock furrow in confusion as he feels your power drop as well.
“Well now, that was quite the surprise. Seems I'm not the only one working on ascending to the next level.” Freeza says, his grin widening. Only for him to suddenly begin to change. You see his form change, and for just a split-second he loses the golden sheen to his body. And instead his head, arms and legs all shine black, aura shifting from gold to a darker purple as well. His strength skyrockets as well, flaring even higher than anyone you've ever met who isn't a time traveler. But only for a split-second, that power fading as quickly as it appeared as he reverts back to his Golden form as he holds out his hand. “What do you say? Shall we see who can achieve their power first? Who can learn to sustain their next level of power, and push themselves even further beyond first?”
“Heh, you're on.” you reply with a grin, clasping one another's forearms as you meet his gaze. No matter what new or stronger threats await over the horizon, what creatures or nightmares will come next to try and destroy your family and way of life, you won't stop getting stronger. No matter what, you'll rise to face whatever threat comes next. And even if you're not enough, you have family, friends, and allies you can rely on, you can call upon who will come to your people's aid just as willingly as you'll go to theirs. And, together, you all can overcome anything.
