Same when I performed IT audits. Govenment workers would always pass the buck or send in their slippiest tongue to try and deflect when all we did was highlight an issue in their controls or configurations so that they could fix it before it snowballed. You can prepare them to be in the best mindset possible to hear what you say but anyone who isn't in the room is going to hear a whole another story like a game of telephone by the end.
